Pops Gun Club Inc. Director’s Changes 2012 & 2013: Look for extended hours to shoot for our New Annual Members! The calendar will say “annual member shoot”

What is a Annual Member? A Annual Membership will be all memberships except for Gold Memberships when your most recent membership expires.

How can I get an Annual Membership? By attending Orientation that the board has been giving a few times per month.

Other Board Changes:Status of memberships: Please use “contact page” in order to check the status of your membership (don’t be surprised at the club to find that you may not shoot due to a expired membership.

Guests of Members:  Members will purchase a pack of daily memberships at the following prices:
Adult 5 daily memberships: 100.00
Teen daily membership: 50.00
Child daily membership: 25.00
All good for 5 days.

Service Hours: With the new memberships we will be able to detail the service hours done by club members. Annual Members complete these hours within the first 6 months of their membership.

All Members will refer friends and acquaintances to an orientation date, or to the website. No member will direct a nonmember to the club without the member’s presence.

Membership Applications: Copies will be made at orientation so that everybody knows the club rules.

Expired applications: You will not enter the club, or shoot if your membership has expired. By the direction of the board Pops Gun Club has no Life Members.

Range Safety Officers: The club will have a RSO on the line for all General Member Shoots. The RSO’s commands are GOLD here at the club! Getting on the wrong side of a RSO is throwing your membership away. Pops RSOs are always right, even if they are wrong! We back our RSOs!

New Annual Members and RSOs: Extended Annual Member times may have an RSO and NRA Firearms Instructor on the line, but Pops expects that annual members will make safety their business and not require any direct RSO supervision. Therefore, in order to provide extended days to annual members the club may not always have a RSO on the line.

What about my General Membership? Your membership is still good and you may convert it to a New Annual Membership by attending Orientation. If you do not want to convert the membership then Pops will still honor it until the contract date, that is the date that you submitted the membership.

Why all of the changes? The board has spent nights, days and hours looking at applications and studying the time in volunteer work that it takes to run a club such as ours and has concluded that the club had been designed to cause too much of a work load on our few volunteers. Our RSOs take a beating on the fire line when they have to process applications and use the register, plus watch for safety. It is also distracting our members and RSOs when nonmembers arrive inside the club to ask questions. Too much time is spent by our directors explaining to members how to use the club and what is appropriate behavior at the club. The directors want to spend more time enhancing the club for members that shoot often.

Annual Memberships are not total family memberships. The Gold Membership is a total family membership where board approval is strictly required and is limited to a few individuals.
